Xantrex RS2000 Inverter/Charger

Xantrex is the premier manufacturer of inverters and chargers. They purchased Heart Interface and the Freedom 458 modified sine wave inverter, formerly produced by Heart is now handled by them. While the Freedom 458 has been around forever, there are other inverters, such as their true sine wave Prosine series that are a better inverter. Xantrex recently has introduced the RS series of inverters that are designed for the RV industry. The RS2000 is a true sine wave inverter/charger that is designed to fit into the same space as the Freedom 458. In addition, the RS series utilizes the new Xanbus protocol. Xanbus is a network communication protocol that uses cat5 wiring and communicates between a wide variety of devices on the system buss. It is very similar to an Ethernet network except that the cable pinouts are different. More information is available on the Xantrex website.

The RS2000 communicates to a System Control Panel (SCP). The menu software in the SCP also lets you manage other modules, such as the Automatic Generator Start module. For more information on the AGS module please refer to the Generators category of this library. Following are a number of tech documents pertaining to this excellent inverter/charger.
