Aftermarket Parts and Your Warranty
From time to time a subject comes up on the forum concerning validation of warranty if one happens to install a non-OEM part on their RV. In a nutshell, a manufacturer cannot deny warranty coverage just because you are not purchasing replacement parts from them. However, if a failure occurs in the manufacturer's system that was caused by a third party item, they can deny coverage of that particular claim. For further information please refer to the following full-text description of the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act.
